A week ago I received an email welcoming me into the Half Fanatics. Here's what they had to say:
I loved it!! :) I was able to set up my profile on the web page, and on Wednesday I received my Half Fanatic technical shirt. I wore this shirt for the first time tonight on my run, and I love it. I cannot wait to run another half so that I can sport it in pride!
I took the last week off to rest both physically and mentally. I love running, but it was good to take a week off. I had a tough time motivating myself to start up again today... not sure why, but this quote finally got my lazy butt out the door...
I fully believe this quote. We are all busy. We all work or go to school or have kids and we are all tired. But running is important to me. Being active and healthy is important! It's so easy to come up with a million excuses NOT to run. Today I did not want to give into all those excuses so I made myself get back in the game. Getting out the door is often the toughest part! I'm still glad a took a week off from running, but I did not want my week to turn into anything longer.
I had a really good run. Ran the hills, but still kept a good pace... legs felt a little off, but I pushed through the weird pains, and everything feels normal again. Onward and upward! :)
***For those of you that asked about the corn salsa, here's a recipe that's close to what Mathis does. He doesn't have a set recipe that he uses, but these are a lot of the ingredients he puts in it. It's really easy and a great snack! :)
