Well, it looks like I might be requesting to change my work schedule this semester. Originally I planned to run on Wednesday mornings, but I was WIPED this morning when my alarm went off. My 12 hour Tuesdays on campus make me one worn-out woman by Wednesday morning. I think if I can go into work first thing in the morning I'll do better with getting off early to run in the afternoon instead.
As for this week, I'll just do some readjusting and rest today instead of resting on Friday as planned. One exciting thing that Mathis and I did do this morning was to make hotel reservations for the weekend of the Blue Ridge Marathon.
We got a great discount on the hotel room, and it's only one block from the race start/finish. Since we got free entries to the race, we decided to splurge and stay downtown that weekend. The hotel definitely gives me some added motivation to keep up with my training!

Video Testimonial
The wonderful people with the Blue Ridge Marathon are giving away free 2011 entries to runners from this previous year who post a testimonial video to facebook. I just couldn't say no to this amazing offer! I am thrilled that Mathis and I scored free entries to the marathon in April. The funny thing about this is that I'd have done something like this video regardless of any race-fee compensation! I cannot tell you how many people raved about this race -- it was so well done, and I had such a fantastic day. You can go to their facebook page here to watch some other testimonial videos.
Here's my video -- it's very goofy, but it's for a good cause so I thought I'd post it here!

Stay tuned for those looking to win a free Blue Ridge entry themselves. Details coming up soon on the blog!

Freaking Out Just a Bit...
I have been sick since Thursday, and I am starting to freak out about it. I've logged 5 miles in the last week, and that's it. My 10 mile run this weekend felt like a really important run for me, and now I'm not sure where to pick back up.
I'm still feeling a little under the weather, but I think this will be my last day of being confined to the sofa. I guess I'll just try to pick back up with the training tomorrow, and instead of tapering my long run this weekend I'll go for the 10 miles. I'm going out of town this week, and there's another football game on Saturday which really messes with my training. I guess I'll just figure it out one way or another.
Have any of y'all ever gotten sick during training? How did you adjust your training schedule? Did your body adapt alright after missing out on some of the runs?
Oh, and I signed up for Marathon #2 this weekend.
